Dispensary Verification Tool (DVT) & Universal Cannabis Symbol (NY)

After you find a dispensary, always look for the official Dispensary Verification Tool (DVT) displayed in the storefront (shown here). Every licensed dispensary in New York is issued a DVT by the state. It includes a QR code you can scan, which takes you directly to the New York OCM website to confirm the store is legally licensed for adult-use cannabis. If you don’t see it, that’s your first red flag. Before purchasing any cannabis product, look for the official New York Universal Cannabis Symbol on the packaging (pictured here). That symbol confirms the product is tested, regulated, and legally sold in New York’s adult-use market. No symbol? Don’t buy it.
